Coronavirus Impact on TV Viewership and Media Spend

In the weeks since the arrival of COVID-19 in the U.S., daily routines for millions of Americans have been disrupted. With more and more non-essential businesses closing and stay-at-home orders put into place, the team at PDMI member company Lockard & Wechsler Direct raised its hand in early April to offer a weekly snapshot and analysis of Nielsen research — ranking the top five viewership-growth networks and bottom five viewership-loss networks each week — to show how these drastic changes are impacting TV viewing across the nation.

In addition, fellow PDMI member company and research partner DRMetrix offered to provide supplemental media spend research regarding Lockard & Wechsler Direct's analysis of these Nielsen viewership numbers.
