Keynote Address

Would you believe it if we told you a burn survivor U.S. Army veteran could win Dancing With The Stars, become a New York Times best-selling author, star in the TV series All My Children, and become one of the most in-demand keynote speakers for events across the globe? You should, because that person is J.R. Martinez, and he's coming to Hard Rock Hotel San Diego to deliver the PDMI West keynote address — presented by Havas Edge — on Monday, Oct. 4.

 

Martinez, who suffered severe burns to more than one-third of his body while serving in Iraq in 2003, joined the cast of the ABC daytime soap in 2008. Since then he’s appeared on numerous television shows. Many remember him best as the season 13 champion on Dancing with the Stars in 2011, wowing the country with his dance moves. And his memoir, “Full of Heart: My Story of Survival, Strength, and Spirit,” spent weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.

 

Throughout these exploits, Martinez has served as an inspirational speaker to hundreds of audiences, traveling around the country speaking about his experiences to corporations, veterans groups, schools, and other organizations. He is also a spokesperson for Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, Glasswing International, No Barriers, and Debra of America.
